The study circles are in the final week!! Our Wen. groups are finished and the Thu groups will complete the sessions tonight. We are preparing for the Community Action Forum which will be Dec. 4,2008 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alden. We will offer a free supper followed by the forum being led by Barb Wollan. What idea will our community decide on? We are excited to find out!!Will keep you posted!!
We had 3 community leaders complete the weekend training session at the 4-H
Camp by Boone. They are Rev Bob Miller, Greg Lashied and Betty Thomas. We are very grateful that they were willing to commit there time and talents to this very worthwhile training session. We also look forward to the next phase of Horizens!!!
We now have 2 community members set for LeadershipPlenty!!Rev Bob Miller and Greg Lasheid are both in place to attend the leadership training to plan community visioning. We are all very grateful for there willingness to help Horizons and Alden!!
We are all very excited about the Horizon program here in Alden. Pastor Martha Bennet,Steve Hunt, Pastor Bob Miller, Kerryn Oliver, Marsha Roland, Evelyn Tirevold and Donna Zoske traveled to various sites to train as facilitators. We now have three study groups meeting every week. We started with 31 community members and are now up to 36! These people come from various walks of life. We have had such lively discussions about poverty and look forward to week 3.
